Report a problem with /bug

Something in Deed not working? Type /bug and a line about it in Ask Deed or on Deed's WhatsApp number, add more in your next messages, and you hear back when it's fixed.

Updated 7 October 2026, about 2 minutes

  1. On a laptop, Ask Deed is the box at the foot of Today. On a phone, open Today, press the round Search button at the end of the tab bar, then Ask Deed. Type /bug and one line about what happened, and press Enter:

/bug the deal board froze when I dragged a card

Say what you were doing and what went wrong. Only a message that starts with /bug (or bug:) is a report, so a client's “bug in the geyser” never files one. Send /bug on its own and Deed asks what went wrong: nothing is filed empty.

  2. Deed answers with the report's number: Thank you, that's BUG-0012 with the Deed team. I'll let you know in Deed when it's fixed. Anything you add in the next few minutes goes on it too. The team is told at once, so you can carry on with your day.

Thought of more? Just send it. For a few minutes after a report, what you say about it, and any screenshot you send, goes on the same report, and Deed answers Added to BUG-0012. A question of its own, like what's on today, is answered as usual. Sent only /bug? Deed asks what went wrong, and your next message is the report.

With your words, Deed sends which version of Deed you were on, your browser (from Ask Deed) and any errors it logged for you that day. Nothing from your book goes with it, and a phone number, an email address or an ID number in what you wrote is taken out first.

  3. A screenshot shows the team what you saw. In WhatsApp, open the chat with Deed's number (the one your WhatsApp sign-in codes come from), attach the screenshot and write /bug and your line as its caption. Deed answers the same way, screenshot and all. A /bug message without a picture works there too.

Deed's number only answers you once your number is linked: on Today, press Link number beside Sign in with WhatsApp next time. A screenshot sent in the few minutes after a report goes on that report. Otherwise a screenshot without /bug in its caption, or one you forward, is kept as one of your files instead, and Deed asks which property it's for. A report's screenshots are deleted 30 days after the report is closed.

  4. When the Deed team marks it fixed, your bell says The problem you reported (BUG-0012) is fixed, with the team's note when they left one. If you've asked Deed's number to message you (Settings, Deed on WhatsApp, Message me about anything but Nothing), the same news comes on WhatsApp.

Twenty a day is the most. After 20 reports from you in a day, Deed says the team has them all and asks you to tell them directly.
